Issues Affecting America: Responsible
Citizenship Fall 2008
The loss of communication skills due to brain injuries and other
neurological damage can be devastating for any adult. In this
lecture, Dr. Linda Carozza offers hope for the afflicted by
discussing new methods of addressing these problems.
This lecture focuses on the bases for neurogenic communication
disorders in adults, assessment and treatment by speech-language
pathologists and current trends in interdisciplinary
approaches
to rehabilitation.
An Assistant Professor of Speech-Language Pathology on the
Staten Island campus, Dr. Carozza received her Ph.D. from the
Graduate Center of the City University of New York. Since 2005, she
has been the Director of the Speech and Hearing Center at Marymount
Manhattan College.
Dr. Carozza also has taught as an adjunct faculty member at
several metropolitan area programs, including Pace University, St.
John’s University and Adelphi University.
