Dr. Steven Papamarcos holds a B.A. in psychology from the State
University of New York at Stony Brook; an MBA in management from
the College of William and Mary, and an M.Phil. and Ph.D. in
organization and policy studies from the City University of New
York.
Dr. Papamarcos has authored more than three dozen articles that
have appeared in peer-reviewed journals and proceedings. He was the
2006 recipient of the St. John’s award for excellence in graduate
teaching as well as The Peter J. Tobin College of Business award
for the year’s outstanding research contribution. Dr. Papamarcos
served as co-chair of the Vincentian Mission Committee for the
University’s 2006 Middle States re-accreditation and has been a
Senior Fellow of the Vincentian Center for Church and Society. He
has established a global reputation for leadership and innovation
in service-learning and spearheaded some 20 large-scale
service-learning and economic development projects at St. John’s
that have been profiled in the New York Times, and featured on
"Good Morning America", WCBS and WINS radio.
Prior to coming to St. John’s, Dr. Papamarcos taught at Baruch
College of CUNY and served in the management of the Penn Central
Corporation, as a Vice President of the Oppenheimer-Palmieri Fund
and as a Managing Director of BlueWater American, an investment
banking and management consulting firm.
