Founder's Week 2006 - Film, Discussion and Reception, Queens Campus

January 30, 2006 4:45 PM
St. Thomas More Church, Queens Campus

Please join us for an evening that will encourage and inspire you.

“Nicholas’ Gift: The courage to give the gift of life.”

Nicholas’s Gift tells the story of a seven-year old California boy, Nicholas Green, who was shot while on vacation with his family in Italy.  Despite their crushing grief, his parents, Reg and Maggie Green, donated his organs and corneas to seven Italians, four of them teenagers, two others parents of young children. Without a transplant, two of the seven would be blind and most, if not all, the others dead.

The story is a mixture of heart wrenching loss and the inspiration that comes from seeing that, even in death, a small idealistic boy could save so many others in desperate need.

The evening will begin with an introduction by Reg Green, Nicholas’s father and conclude with a brief information session on New York’s Organ Donor Program and reception.
